Letter from the CEO

«A legacy that does not look to the past with nostalgia, but with appreciation».

In a family business like ours, time is not just measured in years. It is measured in lessons, shared values, a way of understanding work, and the bond created day by day with our clients and professionals in the funeral sector.

The history of Ramón Chao is made up of all this: dedication, respect, closeness, and a way of doing things that has been passed down from one generation to the next without losing its essence. It is a story that dates back to 1910, when a family legacy deeply connected to the funeral sector began and continues to grow today with the same vocation for service that led to its creation.

Being the fifth generation of a family dedicated to the funeral sector is not just an inheritance; it is an honour and a responsibility. A responsibility that is based on the example of those who came before us, their silent work, their daily commitment, and that serene way of building trust over time.

This catalogue is a reflection of that journey. It is not just a collection of products. It is an expression of a way of working and looking at the sector: with attention to detail, a vocation for service, and a constant desire to offer the solutions our clients need.

We believe in innovation when it arises from knowledge. In quality, when it is taken care of without shortcuts. In closeness, as a way of relating. And we believe, above all, in the value of a legacy that does not look to the past with nostalgia, but with appreciation. Because it is this legacy that drives us to continue building the future.

Today, we present this new catalogue with the emotion of looking at what has been lived and the illusion of everything that is still to come.

Thank you for being part of our history.

Our commitment

There is a moment in the life of every human being when they must embark on a journey. The longest. With no return ticket, but with the assurance that they are going with the love of all their family, friends and loved ones.

As in life, the needs of each person also vary at the time of departure. The last memory has to be worthy of the person who shared their life with us; the last care, too.

And that is precisely the commitment of Ramón Chao as a funeral services provider.

Our history

Since 1910, a family business at the service of the Spanish funeral sector.

Ramón Chao was born in Galicia as a small house dedicated to the supply of funeral supplies. Founded by Ramón Chao himself, the company grew based on a simple premise: treating each client as if they were the only one, and each order as if it were the first.

Today, five generations later, we preserve the craft and the proximity with which we began. We have expanded our catalogue to the seven families that provide an integral solution to the modern funeral home —cremation, chapels, floristry, printing, thanatopraxy, clothing and general items— without losing direct attention, our word, and care for detail along the way.

We work exclusively B2B, side by side with funeral homes and funeral parlours throughout Spain. We have no call centre: every client has an assigned sales representative who responds on the same day and understands their operations.

«Serving the funeral sector is a matter of craft, discretion and a given word. That has been the rule since 1910».
